Welcome to the new season, and a new era for Middlesbrough Futsal Club. Print E-mail

There are a lot of things to be excited about for the future!  With discussions taking place, which will take futsal to the next level in Boro and in England, and the move to a new venue for 2008-2009 also under discussion, the next few months will certainly be interesting for Boro Futsal.

The FA Futsal League North campaign, after a thundering start, turned pear shaped with three consecutive 5-4 away defeats and our home games being moved away, meaning we had to forfeit 2 games and lost the other 2 “home” games.  This leaves us 6th in the league, with no chance of finishing in the top two to qualify for the playoffs, but it does mean we can start preparations for the following season.

We are holding trials from now until September, as we are looking for some new players to add to the team for next season to represent Middlesbrough.  The first open trial in the search for players is this Thursday 10th July at the University of Teesside from 7.30 – 9pm (Olympia Building).  It’s only £1 per person to help cover the cost of hall hire and some players could get the chance to play in the match on Sunday 13th July.  For more information email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

As well as looking for new players, we now have a new home venue lined up and we will be moving there for our remaining two home matches on 13th July (Grimsby) and 14th September (Sheffield FC).  Thornaby Pavilion will become Boro Futsal’s new home temporarily with a view to move there for the 2008-2009 season.  The venue has a very large sports hall and 400 seats for spectators and is managed by Tees Active Ltd, who are sponsoring Boro Futsal for the Grimsby match.  I’d like to invite you to support Boro on Sunday at our new venue.  The kick off is at 13:15, with doors opening from 12:30.  Entry is a special £1 on the door for adults and free for children!  We’d really appreciate your support, to welcome in 2008-2009.
