The result reflected the fact that Hull had key players unavailable, Grimsby were in the opposite position.  Danny Hornigold was oustanding in a team that at last performed closer to its capabilities.

A match full of drama.  The last 10 minutes saw Santos take lead, and Sheffield equalise. The game stopped whilst an ambulance team arrived to treat a serious shoulder injury to Richard Moore of Sheffield. The game restarted with 1 minute on the clock and a 10 meter free shot to Santos.  Marshall made a stunning save; Sheffield marshalled one last attack,  a fierce drive was scrambled away for a hard fought point for booth teams.

Team Birmingham 10 (H Nawaz 5 N Had 3 A Sohail 2) Rotherhan Athletic 2 (D Walker C Hitchen)

Going into the break Rotherham had a chance with the game at 4-2.  The second half was totally different as team Birmingham moved up a gear to run out comfortable winners.  This is not the first time Birmingham have looked vunerable in the first half only to deliver the goods in the second period.
