Clee Community Town U10 Girls entered the National Futsal Finals at the EIS in Sheffield on 21/6/08. It was our first experience of Futsal and playing indoors in front of a big crowd. Early nerves lead to our elimination from the cup competition, where we faced a superb team from the Sheffield United School of Excellence.
We were then entered into the U10 Girls Plate. After our earlier disappointment the girls got over their initial stage fright and went on to win the competition with a resounding 6-0 victory in the final against Kickers Futsal from London.
The tournament was superbly organized and played in a friendly and sporting atmosphere. We would love to be invited back again soon.
Our squad for the tournament was Georgia Peers, Jessica Dunning, Chelsey Ammari, Amy-Lea Smith, Demi-Leigh Ward, Paris Welsh and our captain for the day Eden Pedersen. |
