How did English football reach one of its lowest ebbs – is it merely a case of no home grown talent? Are our children technically inferior and not learning the skills enjoyed by the rest of the foreign players playing in the Premiership?

What to do now?.. Every week all over the country the future England players may be training without ever knowing what it feels like to the back of the net.  And because the season runs from August - April – some months they may even have no alternative to training in near darkness!!! Therein lies the crisis with youth football where are the skills?

Futsal is the word which is now coming up time and again. It should not come as a surprise that the countries that excel at Futsal – Brazil, Spain, Italy, and Portugal – are also the  stars of the FIFA rankings.

Futsal is about creativity and technique – it is a 5 a-side game [played on a basket ball sized pitch with a weighted ball.

Ronaldo and Ronaldinho both say that playing Futsal as youngsters made them the players they are today.

With the future in mind the FA are now rolling out a futsal programme to selected Schools across the Country.  Dermot Collins who is National Development Manager believes that Futsal is an excellent Small Sided Game that teaches quick and skilful play that can contribute to the technical development of young players.

Redyset are therefore delighted to introduce a Futsal IGOAL to their range of portable goals. The 3m x 2m goal is now available and braded gaols will be rolled out to designate County’s by the FA – others available via the online shop.

So – the future is yellow and green (colour of the IGOAL).  See IGOALS in action on www.redyset.com and start improving the skills anytime and anywhere.   Alternatively if you would like a demonstration or more information please contact us on 0844 800 8530

Text from an advertisement for IGOALS in the Lincolnshire FA journal  Your Game June 2008.
