Dear Futsal Friends!

Slovenia, Europe with the city of Bled will host the first World Winter Masters Games in 2010. World Winter Masters Games are run under the International Masters Games Association situated in the Olympic city of Lausanne and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee. Their aim is to support the Olympic movement and promote the ’sport for all’ philosophy of the Olympic Charter by promoting and encouraging mature athletes from all over the world to practice sports regularly and to participate in Masters Games, with the awareness that competitive sport can continue throughout life and improve personal fitness level.

World Winter Masters Games contains competitions in six different sports alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, ski jumping, ice hockey and as presentation sport also indoor football/Futsal. Competitions will be held in renowned venues, Alpine skiing in Kranjska Gora, the ski resort which hosts the annual men's World Cup competition. Ski jumping will take place in Planica – the famous ski jumping venue where the final World Cup competition of the season is traditionally held and where new world records have always been set. The current world record stands at 239 meters, set by Norwegian Bjorn Einar Romøeren. Cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions will be organized at Pokljuka, the venue of an annual World Cup biathlon competition, and hockey games will be organized at Jesenice, Bled, and Kranj.

As FIFA is one of the founders of International Masters Games Association also we, Futsal players get opportunity to compete at first World Winter Masters Games. Teams and players from all over the world will get the opportunity to compete under the Olympic rings and get their first “Olympic style” experience.

World Winter Masters Games are for everyone, regardless of the age or level of proficiency and everybody is able to compete as the only criterion is age, competitors should be older than 25 years. There are no national teams and also multinational teams are allowed. Therefore each team can simply register at www.2010mastersgames.com or send a registration form which is enclosed.
