FIVE Year 11 boys from Shenfield High School had the chance to show off their futsal skills before the England team took on Denmark in two friendly international matches in Barking.

All five boys made valuable contributions as they won 7-0 in the first game and 5-3 in the second and of the 12 goals scored Shenfield students scored nine.

The following day the boys also represented the school in the FA regional futsal finals at Luton Regional Sports Centre.

The Shenfield boys won all four group games to progress to the regional final against Benjamin Britten School where they sealed the title with a 2-0 win with goals from Frankie Kent and Keelan O’Donovan.

The boys will now travel to Birmingham to represent the East of England in the national finals.

Meanwhile, ten of the school’s futsal team trained with the England squad at the newly opened state of the art Sporthouse in Barking.

The students had the opportunity to practice shooting, passing and play possession games with the England players and learn from their experience.

The school’s U14 Futsal Girls have also made it through to the national finals in July.
